Type species: Acosmetura brevicerca Liu, 2000

Generic diagnosis. Body small. Brachypterous. Head hypognathous. Fastigium verticis conical, apex obtuse, furrowed in midline. Eyes subglobular. Posterior margin of pronotum obtusely rounded, metazona slightly raised or not; lateral lobe narrowing, without humeral sinus. Ventral surfaces of all femora unarmed; procoxae with 1 spine, pro- and mesotibiae with some spines on ventral surface, tibial tympana open on both sides; genicular lobes of postfemora with apices obtuse, posttibiae with 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs. Tegmina fully covered by pronotum; left stridulatory area large, fully developed, stridulatory file nearly straight; hind wings absent. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with 1 small concavity. Subgenital plate longer than wide, with small styli on both sides of apical area, conical; genitalia sclerotized and exposed, not surpassing posterior margin of subgenital plate. Ovipositor with smooth edges, slightly curved upwards, basal part stout, narrowing, apices sharply pointed.
