Type locality: Peru, Cuzco Province, Quince Mil ( Brennan and Jones 1961b). Type host: Proechimys simonsi (= Proechimys hendeei ) (Thomas, 1900) ( Rodentia : Echimyidae ). Type depository: FMNH (holotype). Panama records. This species was reported on four rodents, P. semispinosus ( Rodentia : Echimyidae ) in Panama Province and Piña, Colón Province, M. caliginosus (= O. caliginosus ) ( Rodentia : Cricetidae ) from Cerro Azul, Panama Province, T. watsoni and H. megacephalus (= O. capito ) ( Rodentia : Cricetidae ) in Piña, Colón Province ( Brennan and Yunker 1966). Other records. Colombia ( Brennan 1968) and Peru ( Brennan and Jones 1961a).
