Material examined. Moravia mer., Lanžhot (Doubravka), 3.ix.2007, 30.ix.2011, 7.ix.2012, J. Holuša observ.

P. montana has an East-European distribution and is widespread in Austria, Hungary, and Germany, and on the steppes of the former Soviet Union to Kazakhstan and Western Siberia (Harz 1969). This bush-cricket is rare in Central Europe, and the western edge of its range includes Germany (DGFO 2012; Ingrisch & Köhler 1998), Poland (Bazyluk 1956; Bazyluk & Liana 2000; Liana 2000), Lower Austria and Burgenland (Berg & Zuna-Kratky 1997; Bieringer & Berg 2001), Slovakia (Mařan 1956; Gavlas 2002; Gavlas & Krištín 2004), as well as the CR.

In the CR, its occurrence in several localities in the southern-most part of Moravia was reported by Görtler (1946), Čejchan (1985), and Holuša & Kočárek (2006). It is probably currently missing at most of the published localities (Holuša & Kočárek 2006).

At present, it occurs only at a single locality in the environs at Lanžhot village, where its population consists of dozens of individuals.
