Polyplectropus phrixos Malicky & Changthong 2006 , NEW RECORD FOR INDIA
( Figs 17–21 View FIGURES 17–21 )
Polyplectropus phrixos Malicky & Changthong 2006 (in Malicky et al. 2006, 40–41, text figs), Thailand.
Material examined. India: Mizoram, Kolasib , 24°12’43.80”N, 92°40’34.60”E, 25.iv.2012, Pandher ( NZC), 2 males and 1 female GoogleMaps .
Diagnosis. The male genitalia of P. phrixos are similar to those of P. bay Malicky 1995 and P. nam Malicky 1995 (both from Vietnam) in general appearance. Although P. phrixos more nearly resembles P. bay , it is a distinct species as its preanal appendages are longer than the inferior appendages and each is more curved near the basal half in lateral view; the lateral spiniform process of each preanal appendage bears a single process. Conversely, in P. bay , the preanal appendages are shorter than the inferior appendages and not curved near their bases in lateral view; each lateral spiniform process has two branches, with the inner one being longer in dorsal view.
Distribution. India (Mizoram), Myanmar ( Mey & Malicky 2021), Thailand.
