This species was described from Latvia ( Kuznetsov and Petrov 1979 ; 1984). Unfortunately, this species was not mentioned in the catalogue of Tydeidae ( Silva et al. 2016) View in CoL and in the latest online database ( André 2021). It was originally placed in the genus Tydeus , but according to modern taxonomy of Tydeidae View in CoL it should be placed in the genus Lorryia sensu Kaźmierski (1989) .
This is the first record of L. argutus from Russia.
