Djeboa maromandia Pešić, Cook & Gerecke sp. nov.

( Figs. 28A–F View FIGURE 28 A – F , 40C–D View FIGURE 40 A – L )

Type series: Holotype male, dissected and slide mounted, Madagascar 120d, Maromandia , River Andranamalaza, 70 m asl., 31.3 ˚C, 0.023 mS/cm, 21.x.2001, Gerecke & Goldschmidt. Paratype: same data as holotype, one male, dissected and slide mounted.

Diagnosis: Idiosoma anteriorly rounded; dorsal shield elliptical (L/W ratio 1.2), with little pronounced medial depression in the distal half ( Figs. 40C–D View FIGURE 40 A – L ), lateral ridges slightly elevated and size of body pores gradually diminuishing medially, the mounted specimen with an area of purple brownish colouration restricted to the anterior half of dorsal shield; muscle scars weakly pronounced, visible only as small granulated areas ( Figs. 28D View FIGURE 28 A – F ); gnathosomal bay Y-shaped; tips of Cx-I extending slightly beyond frontal margin; Cx-III and -IV with a few longitudinal striae (two pairs on Cx-IV). Palp ( Figs. 28C–D View FIGURE 28 A – F ): P-1 with a dorsal seta; P-2 with straight ventral and convexly bowed dorsal margin; P-3 with a basal kink, from here to distal edge straight; ventral margin of gnathosoma with a long, pointed projection ( Fig. 28D View FIGURE 28 A – F , arrow). Legs: I-L ( Fig. 28E View FIGURE 28 A – F ) with I-L-5 rather stout, ventral margin forming an obtuse angle in proximal third; I-L-6 L/H ratio 2.2, ventral margin forming an obtuse angle proximally, in distal half convexly protruding; distal segments of IV-L: Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 A – C F; swimming setae numbers: III-L- 4, 5; III-L-5, 4; IV-L-4, 4; IV-L-5, 7.
