Specimens examined. Holotype: ♀, South Korea, GG, Deokso , 19.iv.1984, J.W.Lee ( YNU) . Paratypes (South Ko- rea, YNU): 1♀, JB, Mt. Deogyusan, 21.v.1983, D.E.Lee; 1♀, Seoul, Namhansanseong, 12.v.1991, S.R.Yun. ( South Korea, NIBR): 1♀, Seoul, Mt. Gwanagsan, 19.v.1996, H.J.Jang.
Distribution. South Korea (new record).
Description. Female. Fore wing 10.3 mm, body 12.4 mm, ovipositor sheath 6.8 mm long ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). (In paratypes, fore wing 9.8–10.4 mm, body 11.5–12.5 mm, ovipositor 6.3–6.5 mm; n=3.)
Head. 0.95 as wide as mesosoma, distinctly narrowed behind ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ), dense and coarsely punctured. Frons flat. Diameter of ocellus 0.9 × as long as the distance between the lateral ocellus and eye. Occipital carina complete from above, joined with hypostomal carina at distance from the base of the mandible as long as malar space length. Flagellum with 36 filiform segments. First segment 3.7 × as long as wide, penultimate segment square. Face 1.8 as wide as high ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ). Clypeus convex basally, with rare punctures and blunt apical ridge. Upper tooth of the mandible longer than lower tooth. Malar space shagreened with rare punctures, 0.36 × as long as basal width of mandible.
Mesosoma. Very stout, 1.25 × as long as high ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ); dense and coarsely punctured. Epomia and notaulus absent. Scutellum carinated only at base. Epicnemal carina not joined with front ridge of mesopleuron, end near its lower third. Mesopleuron very swollen, with distinct tubercle on lower hind angle just in front of middle coxa (this character also present in several other Alloplasta species). Speculum small. Fore wing with areolet pointed from above. Second recurrent vein (2m-cu) with single long bulla. Nervulus distinctly postfurcal, parallel vein joined postnervulus almost in middle ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ). Hind wing with 10 distal hamuli. Nervellus strongly reclival, intercepted slightly below middle ( Fig. 1H View FIGURE 1 ). Legs moderately slender. Hind femur 5.3 × as long as wide. Hind tarsal segments somewhat swollen, correlation between their lengths 102:49:32:23:31. Second segment 3.5 × as long as wide. Tarsal claws pectinate. Propodeum short, distinctly curved in lateral view, with dense and coarse punctures and without longitudinal and transverse carina ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ). Propodeal spiracle elliptic.
Metasoma. First tergite 1.5 × as long as wide, moderately dense and coarsely punctured, with longitudinal concavity in middle, almost to the apical margin ( Fig. 1F View FIGURE 1 ). Second and third tergites with fine punctures, weakly striated transversally. Second tergite 0.7 × as long as wide. Subgenital plate with deep apical cut. Ovipositor sheath 1.6 × as long as hind tibia.
Colour. Black. Inner face orbit partly, a spot on upper middle part of mandible, hind upper angle of pronotum and two spots on fronto-lateral part of mesonotum yellow; base of all tibia and 2–4 tarsal segments of hind legs entirely white, tergites with narrow apical yellow-white line; tegula and legs, except coxa and trochanters reddish, middle and hind femora darkened in apical half except from below, hind tibia darkened apically; first tarsus of hind legs black, last one reddish.
Etymology. Name originates from the Latin “brevi-,” brevipetiolaris meaning “short petiole.”
Remarks. The new species is close in appearance to A. longipetiolaris ( Uchida 1952) , but differs by having a stouter mesosoma, flagellum with more numerous segments, propodeum without carination, shorter first and second metasomal terga, longer ovipositor sheath, and body coloration.
