- Cercyon (Paracycreon) laminatus Sharp, 1873 View in CoL
Hebauer (1997) reported a doubtful record of C. laminatus from Egypt. The species is native to the eastern Palearctic region, but it was introduced into Europe where it has become widespread within a few years ( Hebauer 1994). There are also some records from the Australian, Oriental, Neotropical, Pacific ( Fikáček et al. 2015), and Afrotropical regions ( Hebauer 2006). The species is completely absent from North African countries ( Fikáček et al. 2015).
- Sphaeridium caffrum Laporte, 1840
Abdel-Gawaad et al. (1976) and Hanski (1980) reported doubtful records of S. caffrum from Egypt. The species has mainly an Afrotropical distribution, and in the Palearctic region it is known only from Yemen ( Fikáček et al. 2015).
- Sphaeridium marginatum Fabricius, 1787
Orchymont (1927), Alfieri (1976), Hebauer (1997), and Hansen (1999, with doubt) reported the presence of S. marginatum in Egypt. In North Africa, the species is known only from Algeria and Tunisia ( Fikáček et al. 2015).
