- Berosus (Berosus) nigriceps (Fabricius, 1801) View in CoL
Hebauer (1997) reported the occurrence of B. nigriceps in Egypt in his list of Hydrophiloidea occurring in Saudi Arabia and neighboring territories. We have not been able to verify the literature records of this species in Egypt. The Egyptian distribution of B. nigriceps was not included in the revisions of Schödl (1993, 1994b) or catalogues of Hebauer (2006), Fikáček et al. (2015), and Przewoźny and Fikáček (2016). The species is widely distributed throughout Africa, from the southern Sahara ( Chad, Mauritania, Niger, and Sudan) to South Africa ( Fikáček et al. 2010).
