Distribution in North Carolina: All regions. Counties: BA, CH, CV, GS, GU, HA, JH, MT, RB, SO, ST, WK, WY (material examined) and BN, CA, DU, IR, JA, LI, MA, ME, MO, OR, RW, TR (in literature).

Distribution in surrounding states: GA ( Ipser et al. 2004), SC ( Davies 2009), TN ( Dennis 1938, Lessard et al. 2007) and VA ( Wang et al. 2000).

Camponotus caryae (Fitch, 1855) * (rarely collected species)

Distribution in North Carolina: Northeastern part of the state. Counties: CK and WK (material examined).

Distribution in surrounding states: GA ( Graham et al. 2008), SC ( Davies 2009) and TN ( Dennis 1938, Cole 1940).
