Other material examined. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Province Barahona, Parque Nacional Sierra Martín García, Loma El Curro (18°22'48.8"N – 70°01'35.2"W), 1379 m, 30.V.2014, G. de los Santos, 1♂ ( MNHNSD 09.1623 View Materials ) GoogleMaps .

Diagnosis. Males of S. cimitarra are easily distinguished from other Hispaniola species by the retrolateral tibial apophysis elongated and curved at tip, and by the filiform apical projection of the embolar base ( Fig. 1A – C View FIGURE 1 ; Brescovit et al. 2018: figs 1A – B, 2B – F). Females resemble those of Syspira jimmyi by the enlarged atrium ( Fig. 1D – E View FIGURE 1 ), but can be distinguished by the dorsal median plate truncated at the distal margin, and wider epigynal posterior plates, exceeding in half the atrial lateral dorsal folds ( Fig. 1D – E View FIGURE 1 ; Brescovit et al. 2018: figs 1C – D, 2I).

Description. Male and female described by Brescovit et al. (2018).

Remarks. Specimens from Parque Nacional Sierra Martín García, Barahona Province represent new distribution records for this species. Previously known from Provinces La Vega and Peravia ( Brescovit et al. 2018), its distribution is now extended to the cloud forest remnants at the top of Loma El Curro mountain ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ), where it lives sympatrically with Syspira alayoni sp. n.

Distribution. Provinces Barahona, La Vega and Peravia, Dominican Republic ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ).
