Syspira medialuna Brescovit, Sánchez-Ruiz & Bonaldo, 2018: 62 , figs 5–7. Male holotype ( IBSP 168415 ) and two female paratypes ( IBSP 168416 and MNHNSD 09.1541 ) from Reserva Científica Ébano Verde , 19°1’56.8”N– 70°32’30.9”W, 1029 m, Constanza, Province La Vega, Dominican Republic, 16–17.IV.2015, A. Sánchez-Ruiz & J. Cabra, examined.

Other material examined. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Province La Vega, Jarabacoa, Reserva Científica Ébano Verde , Paso Bajito , La Sal , Loma La Golondrina (19°03'55.9"N – 70°33'02.9"W), 1520 m, 17.V.2009, A. Mateo, R. Carreras & G. de los Santos, 1♂ ( MNHNSD 09.1637 ) .

Diagnosis. Males of Syspira medialuna are easily distinguished from other Hispaniolan species of the agujas group by a fairly developed embolar base process ( Fig. 5 A–C), and a spatula-shaped median apophysis in ventral view ( Fig. 5B ; Brescovit et al. 2018: fig. 5A–B). Females are distinguished from other Hispaniolan species by large epigynal posterior plates with quite high anterior edges, twice the size of the other known species ( Fig. 5D ; Brescovit et al. 2018: figs 5C, 6E).

Description. Male and female described by Brescovit et al. (2018).

Distribution. Province La Vega, Dominican Republic ( Fig. 9 ).
