Types. HOLOTYPE: male, CHINA: Sichuan: Wushan, Liziping , 1993.VII.5, leg. Runzhi Huang ( IZ-CAS) . PARATYPES: Hubei: 1 male, Shennongjia, Yangri , 1981.V.30, leg. Yinheng Han ( IZ-CAS) ; Anhui: 1 male, 1 female, Yuexi, Yaoluoping, Xiaoqiling , 2007.VII.18-19, leg. Yibin Ba, Juntong Lang, Fengyan Wang ( HBUM) ; Henan: 1 female, Jigongshan , 2001.VII.15, leg. Junzhi Cui ( IZ-CAS) .
Measurements. Body length males: 4.6–5.4 mm, Body length females: 5.5–5.7 mm.
Description. Body elongate. Head black, mouth parts and genae light brown; basal four antennomeres light brown or brown, while others blackish brown or black. Pronotum fulvous with a central black marking from anterior margin to posterior margin, anterior half of the marking trapezoidal, posterior half of the marking rectangular, broader than the anterior half. Scutellum and elytra black, each elytron with a round fulvous spot at apex. Ventral side of body black except for fulvous prothorax. Legs mostly black, venter of femora and tibiae dark brown to light brown.
Head densely covered with short white pubescence. Mandibles short, labrum narrow, with sparse short pubescence, slightly incised at anterior margin; anterior part of clypeus lustrous, anterior margin widely “V”-shaped incised; frons rough, coarsely punctured, median concave; vertex convex, covered with sparse punctures, and a median longitudinal groove which extends to middle of frons. Antennae robust, extending to base of prothorax, pubescent except for 3 rd antennomere, 1 st antennomere strongly elevated dorsally, 2 nd small and round, 3 rd oval, smaller than the second, 4 th triangular, slightly longer than 3 rd, 5 th – 10 th serrate, larger, last segment long and conical.
Prothorax transverse, 2.16 times as wide as long, convex; anterior margin slightly concave, lateral margins slightly arcuate, convergent anteriad, posterior margin sinuate; anterior angles rectangular, posterior ones broadly rounded, all margins bordered including the lateral ones; surface lustrous, basal part with a row of punctures, apical part with a few sparse punctures. Scutellum triangular, impunctate, basal part sparsely clothed with short hairs, apical part slightly elevated over elytral surface.
Elytra cylindrical, 1.58 times as long as wide at humeral part, humeral width as broad as prothorax; surface densely covered with coarse punctures, interstices as wide as the diameter of a puncture, and punctures disappearing toward elytral apices.
Ventral side of body and legs thickly clothed with long silvery pubescence; apex of pygidium arcuate. Legs robust, tarsi broad, length ratio of protarsomeres 1.6:1.1:0.2:1.7.
Aedeagus long, bent ventrally, basal 2/3 paler and less sclerotized than apical 1/3; underside of apical part with sparse short setae.
Female. Body more robust; anterior margin of clypeus more shallowly incised; prothorax narrower than elytra, pronotal marking not divided into two parts of different shapes, but into a trapezoidal band from anterior margin to posterior margin, and punctures on pronotum evenly distributed on the marking; apex of pygidium truncate; spermatheca hook-shaped, basal half of the same thickness, apical half thinner, spermathecal duct uncoiled, of the same thickness, ventral rectal sclerites large, dorsal central sclerite sub-trapezoidal, with some irregular processes; lateral sclerites small.
Distribution. China (Anhui, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan).
Etymology. This new species is dedicated to Mr. Runzhi Huang, the collector of the holotype.
Diagnosis. This new species differs from other congeneric species by the following characteristics: pronotum fulvous with a central black marking from anterior margin to posterior margin, elytra black with a fulvous apical spot; spermathecal basal half about the same thickness; dorsal central sclerite sub-trapezoidal, with some irregular processes.
