TYPE MATERIAL. — Unknown origins • 1 syntype; unknown locality, L’Astrolabe & La Zélée expedition; 1837-1840; Hombron & Jacquinot leg.; MNHN-IE-2014-380 • 5 syntypes; same as for preceding; MNHN-IE-2014-374 • 1 syntype; same as for preceding; MNHN-IE-2014-387.

REMARK The species is from Antarctic waters. According to Sladen (1889), the locality (Torrès Strait) mentioned by Perrier (1875) is not correct.
