Type material. Holotype RGM 961.749 (Type locality). Paratype RGM 961.846 and 961.738 (Type locality).

Type locality. Tiep2.

Derivatio nominis. Named for its resemblance to Bullina virgo Habe, 1950 , by adding suffix - ides.

Diagnosis. Shell elongate; H> 3.75 mm, W 1.92 mm; protoconch elevated, 1.2 whorl, DP 0.54 mm; nucleus partially overhanging first teleoconch whorl, DN 0.22 mm; teleoconch sculpted with punctuated spiral grooves, colour whitish with two pink bands, one above centre of whorl, one on base; columella callused, bearing a fold; umbilicus closed.

Description. Shell tall, pear-shaped, fragile, with convex sides. Largest specimen with intact spire has a total of 3.6 whorls, including a protoconch of 1.2 whorl. Protoconch smooth, globose, inclined, with nucleus partially overhanging first teleoconch whorl, margin impressed. Teleoconch strongly sculpted with punctuated spiral grooves, with oval punctuations on the middle of the whorl and rectangular punctuations on the base and near the suture. Suture channeled. Colour dirty white with two rather broad pinkish spiral bands, one above the middle of the whorl and one on the base. Aperture long, semilunar, narrowing towards the elongated anterior end. Upper part of columella twisted, with a fold, rest of columella straight, lowermost part broken in all specimens. Columella and basal part of shell next to columella bear a thin callus.

Differentiation. This species closely resembles Bullina virgo Habe, 1950 in the distribution of the colour bands and the punctuated spiral grooves, but B. virgo Habe, 1950 is much less elongate and does not have a fold on the upper part of the columella. B. virgoides is unusual in having a fold on the columella, which does not appear to be present in any other Bullina species known to date. It is also more elongate than any other Bullina , but its sculpture, colouration and general shape clearly place this species within Bullina . Rictaxiella choshiensis Habe, 1958 is similar to Bullina virgoides nov. spec. in its elongated shape and its sculpture, but it has no red colouration and no fold and callus on the columella.
