Taxonomy. We have examined the holotype and eight paratypes from the Philippines (NMW) and a single specimen collected in East Malaysia (RABC). In this species, the pronotal summit is more weakly raised than in other species, and the asperities on the anterior slope are very small and rather widely separated. However, the overall form and proportions of the pronotum remain consistent with those of Dryocoetiops View in CoL and not Coccotrypes View in CoL . The elytral declivity is less steep than in other species of Dryocoetiops View in CoL , the elytral striae are not impressed on the disc, and at most stria 1 is weakly impressed on the declivity.

Distribution. Malaysia (Sabah), Philippines.

New Record. [ MALAYSIA, Sabah], Kinabalu Park, Sorinsim , 21.ii.1997 (A. Floren) (1)

Biology. The specimen from Sabah was obtained by fogging the canopy of Melochia umbellata (Sterculiaceae) .
