Cephennodes (s. str.) leai , nomen n.

Coatesia lata Lea, 1915: 230 .

Type material. Lectotype (designated here; Figs. 1, 3 View FIGURES 1 – 3 ): AUSTRALIA: New South Wales: male, "13816 Coatesia lata Lea N. S. Wales [handwritten in black] TYPE [handwritten in red along right margin], " lata Lea TYPE Clarence R" (handwritten in black), "S.A. Museum Specimen" (red, typed), " COATESIA lata Lea , LECTOTYPE, P. JAŁOSZYŃSKI, 2007" (printed), " CEPHENNODES (s. str.) leai Jałoszyński , det. P. JAŁOSZYŃSKI, 2007" (printed) ( SAM). Paralectotypes (2 males, 6 females): AUSTRALIA: New South Wales: 4 females originally placed on one card together with the lectotype male, during the present study were remounted each on a separate card and pin bearing printed copies of the original white labels; 1 non-dissected male with similar large handwritten label as in the lectotype but bearing number "18401" and red "Cotype", "Clarence R., N. S. W. Lea" (printed), "S. Aust. Museum specimen" (orange, printed) ( SAM); 1 female originally placed on the same pin as the paralectotype male, now on a separate pin and bearing white printed copies of the original white labels ( SAM); 1 female, 1 male on one pin, " Australia [underlined in red], 1912-22." (printed), " Coatesia lata Lea, N. S. W. [handwritten in black] Co-type Lea [printed]", "Cotype" (circular, white with yellow margins, printed), " Cephennodes latus Lea [handwritten in black] Cl. Besuchet dét. [printed] X [handwritten] 195 [printed] 7 [handwritten]", " COATESIA lata Lea , PARALECTOTYPE, P. JAŁOSZYŃSKI, 2007" (printed), " CEPHENNODES (s. str.) leai Jałoszyński , det. P. JAŁOSZYŃSKI, 2007" (printed) ( BMNH).

Additional material examined. AUSTRALIA: Queensland: 1 male, 1 female, "Mt. Tambourine, Q.: A. M. Lea" (printed), "Rotting Leaves" (printed), "S. Aust. Museum specimen" (orange, printed) ( SAM).

Remarks. In the original description, Lea did not specify the number of specimens in the type series. He gave only a general locality for the studied materials, which was "N. S. Wales; Nepean River (A. J. Coates), Clarence River, in flood debris (A. M. Lea)" (after Lea 1915). It is not clear if Lea based his brief description on a particular specimen from one of these localities. Only the material collected at the Clarence River was found in SAM and BMNH, and these specimens seem to bear original labels annotated as types and cotypes. Two additional specimens of this species are preserved in SAM; they have been collected on Mt. Tambourine. This locality is not mentioned in the original description, and these specimens certainly have not been originally included in the type series.
