Drosophila View in CoL sp. A
Figs. 6A View FIGURE 6 , 7I View FIGURE 7
Specimen: Female, HS04: “ Mwenda , Mt. Ruwenzori, Congo Belge / Dec. 13, 1948, 1400 m. forest, J. C. Bradley. ” Genitalia dissected by DG; in AMNH .
The two specimens from Mt. Ruwenzori, specimens HS-04 and HS-05, are clearly different species based on the oviscapt structure, the former having 10 (vs. 5) pegs in the ventral series. Additionally, in species A the postocellar setae are very small (OC/POC 0.06, vs. ca. 0.12); anterior reclinate orbital seta is nearly midway between the other two ipsilateral orbitals (ODB/ODA 0.45, vs. ca. 0.35); and the profemur is slightly longer than in other species (LF1/LF2 0.85, vs. 0.73–0.80).
Measurements: Head: HD/HW 0.85; FL/LFW 1.00; VB2/VB1 0.69; EW/ED 0.71; OC/POC 2.83; FW/FD 0.57; ODB/ODA 0.45; Thorax: ThL 1.00 mm.; UPS/LHS 0.65; LHS/ThL 0.23; ADC/PDC 0.40; AKE/PKE 0.51; LF1/LF2 0.85.
