Syntypes. HNHM Pseudoscorp-159: 2 ex. “1124/1897, Chernes aequatorialis Daday, Det. Dr. Daday Jenő ”, “Friedr.-Wilh.-hafen [Friedrich-Wilhelms-Hafen], Új-Guiena [now Madang, Papua New Guinea], leg. Dr. Bíró Lajos ” .
Current status. Valid, as Smeringochernes aequatorialis ( Daday, 1897) ( Beier 1965) .
Remark. According to the original description there should be three syntype specimens, but the vial contains only two.
