Chernes cyrneus var. hungaricus Daday 1889a: 171 –172, pl. IV figs 4, 6.
Holotype. HNHM Pseudoscorp-184: 1 ex. “1904/1929, Chernes cyrneus var. hungaricus Daday, Det. Dr. Daday Jenő ”, “Szentmárton (Baranya vm.)” [now Márok, Baranya County, Hungary] [leg. L. Bíró].
Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Dendrochernes cyrneus (L. Koch, 1873) ( Beier 1929) .
Remarks. The synonym list in the original description ( Daday 1889: 171) indicates that the holotype is the same specimen as that described by Tömösváry (1883: 194) as Chernes cyrneus from the same locality.
Tömösváry’s label has obviously been removed later in this case also (see Introduction). Although not mentioned in the original description, Tömösváry (1883: 195) indicated that the specimen was collected by Lajos Bíró.
