Distribution. Peru.
Remarks. The specimens do not exactly correspond to the specimen pictured on Plate III, Fig. 9 View FIGURES 6–10 in Stoll (1787) and Stoll (1813), or to the male from the MFNB, differing by a less extensive coloration of the male alae and the lack of darkened forecoxae and prosternum from typical A. quinquemaculata from northern South America. They are also very close to A. saussurii Giglio-Tos, 1927 from the Guyanas. Only a revision of the genus can elucidate the status of the Peruvian specimens figured here with respect to the species mentioned above. This taxon is rather common at the study site.
