Atractides baderi Schwoerbel & Sepasgozarian, 1976

( Figs. 59–65 View FIGURES 59 – 65 )

Type series: Holotype ɗ, Typ. P. J/25, Atractides (Iranomegapus) sepasi . ɗ. River near Delijan, 0 8.10.1974, coll. Schwoerbel. Paratype Ψ, P. J/26. Allotyp, label and state as holotype. Probably Schwoerbel planned to describe this species under the name of A. sepasi , but latter change in baderi before publication.

Diagnosis: dorsal integument: finely striated; muscle attachments: unsclerotized. IL: IL5 with S1and 2 rather short, IL6 distally thickened, in the center narrowed. Genital field: Ac small and roundish, in a curved line. Excretory pore: smooth; Vgl1: not fused with Vgl2. Palp: P2 and P3 each with a ventral protrusion, P4 sword seta inserted halfway between ventral hairs.

Description: Male (in parentheses data from Schwoerbel & Sepasgosarian 1976):Length of idiosoma (800), width (640). Dorsally the integument is finely striated; muscle attachments: unsclerotized. Coxal field ( Fig. 59 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ); length between anterior end of first coxae and posterior end of fourth coxae 374; Cx3 width 479, Cx1+2 width 366; Cx 1+2 medial suture 83 in length. Measurements of mouthparts: chelicera 277 in length, claw 77 in length; palp total length 448, dorsal length and relative length (% total length, in parentheses) of single segments: P1 40 (8.9), P2 102 (22.8), P3 123(27.5), P4 140 (31.3), P5 43 (9.6); length ratio P2/P4 is 0.73; palp ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ): P2 and P3 each with a ventral protrusion more or less conusshaped, P4 sword seta inserted halfway between ventral hairs. Genital field ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ): anterior margin straight, posterior margin convex; Ac small, in a curved line, approached to the distal edge of the genital field; 115 in length, 139 in width, Ac13 length 141213; excretory pore smooth; Vgl1: separated from Vgl2.

IL ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ): IL5 little modified, with S1/2 rather short, IL6 distally thickened, in the center narrowed; IL5 dorsal length 205, IL5 central height 59 (40), ratio dorsal length IL5/central height 3.47 (5.1), S1 length 80, ratio length S1/width 12.0, S2 length 66, ratio length S2/width 10.7, distance between sword setae of IL5 14 (20); ratio length S1/2 1.21; IL6 length 172, IL6 central height 39, ratio length IL6/central height 4.4; ratio length IL5/6 1.19.

Female (in parentheses data from Schwoerbel & Sepasgosarian 1976): Length of idiosoma (770), width (660). Dorsally the integument is finely striated; muscle attachments: unsclerotized. Coxal field: length between anterior end of first coxae and posterior end of fourth coxae 464; Cx3 width 631; Cx1+2 medial suture 86 in length; distance from lateralmost tips of Cx2 to the medioposterior edge of Cx1+2 300. Measurements of mouthparts: palp total length 562, dorsal length and relative length (% total length, in parentheses) of single segments: P1 47 (8.4), P2 130 (23.1), P3 162 (28.8), P4 175 (31.1), P5 48 (8.5); length ratio P2/P4 is 0.74; palp ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ): P2 and P3 each with a ventral protrusion more or less conusshaped, P4 sword seta inserted halfway between ventral hairs. Genital field ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ): Ac small, in a curved line, approached to the distal edge of the plates; genital plates 119 in length, 32 in width, Ac13 length 171719; excretory pore smooth; Vgl1: separated from Vgl2.

IL ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 59 – 65 ): IL5 dorsal length 269, IL5 central height 69 (32 [probably basal height]), ratio dorsal length IL5/central height 3.9, S1 length 84, ratio length S1/width 14.6, S2 length 71, ratio length S2/ width 8.7, distance between sword setae of IL5 15 (19); ratio length S1/2 1.18; IL6 length 214, IL6 central height 47, ratio length IL6/ central height 4.6; ratio length IL5/6 1.26.

Remarks: Until now, this species has remained easily recogniceable on the base of the diagnostic features given here. It is the only species in Palaearctic with protruding ventral margin of P 3 in females. The differences between orginal description and our measurements are probably due to squeezing in the holotype preparation.

Distribution: Iran.
