Description. Length: 15.0–19.0 mm
Colour: Head yellow with black spots on vertex, anterior and posterior black spot connected by middle narrow black line; antennal segment 1–2 reddish yellow and rest reddish brown; pronotum dark black, with two lateral yellow spots, in dumbbell shaped black background; elytra black with humeral spots; legs reddish yellow with hind femur with black spot on apex.
Head: Eyes protruding; pronounced wrinkles on neck.
Pronotum: Glabrous, smooth, shiny; anterior margin curved inwards; disc laterally with anterior margin convex, narrow posteriorly with posterior 1/3 rd of lateral margin diverging rather than parallel; posterior margin straight.
Elytra: Subparallel rather than convex, narrowed toward base; humeral spot large, extending somewhat posteriorly; median band narrow; lateral edge with yellow margin starting from the humeral spot and joins the prominent yellow apical band; disc matt and finely pubescent; narrow, deep striations with wider intervals.

Remarks. Very similar to P. bimaculatus but differs by the presence of three spots (anterior and posterior rounded, middle spot narrow connecting the two) on vertex, pronotum with larger spots reaching the lateral margin and narrow median transverse band.
