Diagnosis. This species is similar to L. strumiformis sp. nov. and L. plinthochroa ( West, 1931) superficially. It can be distinguished from the latter two species in the male genitalia by the lateral arms of the gnathos with a hooked process at basal 1/3, and phallus without cornutus; in the female genitalia by the ductus bursae with basal half sclerotized, and corpus bursae almost equal to the length of the ductus bursae; in L. strumiformis ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 34–37 ) and L. plinthochroa ( Wang et al., 2017, Fig. 20 View FIGURES 14–21 ), the lateral arms of the gnathos lack a hooked process, and phallus has one cornutus; in the female genitalia the ductus bursae is sclerotized in basal 1/4 and is about 1.2 times as long as the corpus bursae in L. plinthochroa ( Wang et al., 2017, Fig. 30 View FIGURES 28–33 ), and the ductus bursae is not sclerotized and the corpus bursae is about twice as long as the ductus bursae in L. strumiformis ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 44–48 ).
Description. Adult ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 14–21 ) wingspan 22.0–25.0 mm. Head yellowish white. Male labial palpus yellow, suffused with black scales; first segment about 1/5 length of second; second segment exceeding vertex apically, appressed to vertex, hollowed out on inner side to receive long brush-like maxillary palpus; third segment black on basal half, tapering, about 1/4 length of second; female labial palpus shorter than male, third segment slender, about 3/4 length of second. Male maxillary palpus long, brush-like, yellowish white; female maxillary palpus compressed and short, yellow. Antenna yellowish-fuscous, male serrulate on ventral surface; female thinner than male, with black annulations on dorsal surface; male with scape extension apically reaching metathorax, yellow suffused with black scales, with long, yellow mixed with black scale hairs ventrally and apically. Thorax and tegula yellow, suffused with black. Forewing with basal area black, suffused with pale pink scales; median area pale pink mixed with yellow and black scales, with more yellow scales along costal margin; distal area pale fuscous, along veins with white strips edged by black along both sides; antemedian line indistinct, extending from basal 1/3 of costal margin vertically to lower margin of cell, then obliquely inward to basal 1/4 of dorsum, edged with indistinct pale pink fascia along inner and outer margin; postmedian line black, extending from distal 2/5 of costal margin slightly arched outward to CuA 2, then slightly oblique inward to distal 1/3 of dorsum, edged with pale pink fascia along inner and outer margins, with a brownish yellow tuft at M 1; subterminal line dark gray, extending from distal 1/3 of costal margin slightly arched outward to CuA 2, then slightly oblique inward to distal 1/4 of dorsum, edged with a wide orange-yellow fascia along inner margin and narrower, pale pink fascia along outer margin; brownish-yellow tuft placed at R 5 and M 1 on subterminal line, mixed with black and white scales on outer side; orange-yellow stripe from middle of cell to anterior 1/3 of antemedian line; orange yellow patch from base of CuA 2 to middle of dorsum; discal spot absent; discocellular spot represented by a brownish-yellow tuft, black on outer side; terminal line grayish white. Hindwing concolorous with forewing; black patch from below base of cell to dorsum, medially with a tuft of black and white hair-like scales; a long and yellow patch from base of Rs to middle of dorsum, suffused with yellowish fuscous tufts; black mixed with fuscous hair-like scales between M 1 and M 2 and between 1A and 2A longitudinally. Cilia of both wings dark gray. Foreleg fuscous, suffused with yellow scales on femur and tibia, each tarsomere yellow at apex; mid-and hindlegs yellow except femora mixed with fuscous scales.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 34–37 ). Uncus broad, quadrate, obtuse on posterior margin, covered with dense, short setae dorsally. Gnathos lateral arms with basal 1/3 serrulate on outer margin, with a hooked process at basal 1/3 directed downward; distal process trifurcate. Valva sub-trapezoidal, narrow basally, widened distally, obtuse and sinuate terminally, covered with sparse short hairs, with a tubercle directing outward ventroapically; median plate sclerotized, umbraculiformis, oblique outward, widened posteriorly, widely fused with sacculus posteriorly; costa reaching apex of valva, distal 1/3 slightly expanded. Sacculus about 3/4 length of ventral margin of valva; dorsal process at middle, bilobed: inner lobe slender and curved, pointed distally, outer lobe slightly curved inward, short, spine-shaped, about 4/5 length of inner lobe. Juxta subround; lateral lobes short, slightly pointed apically. Saccus U-shaped. Phallus slightly curved at middle, about 1.2 times as long as ventral margin of valva, with dense denticles on ventral surface distally; without cornutus.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 44–48 ). Papillae anales triangular, obtuse posteriorly, with long setae. Ovipositor with a sclerotized triangular plate anteriorly. Eighth segment rectangular, sternite narrowed medially, about 1/3 width of lateral margin, with sparse, short setae on posterior margin. Apophyses anteriores about equal to length of apophyses posteriores. Lamella antevaginalis ovate. Antrum rectangular, concave in U shape at middle posteriorly. Ductus bursae with basal half weakly sclerotized, distal half membranous. Corpus bursae ovate, about as long as ductus bursae; signa ovate.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Henan, Hubei).
Etymology. New species is named in memory of professor Zhemin ZHENG (1932–2021), a famous Chinese entomologist.
