Type material. Male from “Nouveau-Monde, Amér. mér., Capitainerie de Montevideo ”, not found at MNHN, where Walckenaer’s types should be deposited .
Remark. Due to Walckenaer’s (1837) short and uninformative description and the unavailability of the type which is probably lost, I consider Lasiodora saeva Walckenaer (1837) a nomen dubium.
