TYPE SPECIES: Zumba rhinoidea Peris, 1951 , by original designation .

NOTES: Zumba is restricted to the Afrotropical Region (Pont 1980: 787). The biology, life histories and immature stages are unknown, and no details are provided for the genus by Ferrar (1987).

NOTES: Biology, life history and immature stages unknown. The species is exceedingly common in Namibia, and has been collected by hand, at UV­light, in yellow, brown, white and blue pans, in pitfall and Malaise traps and by sweeping a flowering bush. Occurring at high elevations on the Brandberg (700 m, 1180 m, 1200 m, 1820 m, 1960 m, 2000 m). The distribution pattern of this species indicates a preference for the hyper­arid region of Namibia; occurring in all Namibian biomes, but principally in the desert and succulent karoo biomes ( Fig. 102 View FIGURES 99–104 ). Recorded in all months of the year, except June; most abundantly from November to February (vide Table 2).
