Positive for nitrate reduction, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis and βgalactosidase in API 20NE but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation and gelatinase. N-Acetyl-glucosamine and adipate are utilized. Does not utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, D-maltose, gluconate, caprate malate, citrate and phenylacetate. Strain YB.Ce-3 (= NIBRBA0000114843) has been isolated from activated sludge, Daejeon, Korea.
