Aulonothroscus brevicollis (2.5-3.3 mm) ( Fig. 38 View Fig ) is a common species in deciduous forests with older trees and can be locally very abundant. In the Kolmontbos, where one specimen was found near a nest of L. fuliginosus ( Table 37), we collected 26% of all individuals from our database using adhesive tapes wrapped around the trunk of dead trees (beech and oak).
