Gryon thoum Kozlov and Lê, 1992: 224 , 227 (original description, keyed). Gryon thous Kozlov and Lê, 1996: 10 (description); Lê 2000: 139 (junior synonym of Gryon wintes Kozlov and Lê View in CoL ). Female body length = 1.8–2.15 mm (n = 2); male body length = 2.19–2.39 (n = 10).

Colour. Head, mesosoma and metasoma black; coxae brown, remainder of legs yellow-brown; clypeus brown; mandible brown with red-brown teeth; radicle, A1–A2 brown-yellow, A3–A7 pale yellow, remaining antennomeres brown-black.

Head. 1.1× as wide as high, 1.7× as high as long. IOS: 0.5× head width, 0.9× eye length. POL: LOL: OOL: 22.5: 13.0: 1.5. OOL: 0.3× MOD. Compound eye: ovate (L: W = 35.8: 27.5). Sculpture of orbital furrow: foveate. Inner orbits in frontal view: converging dorsally. Central keel on frons: present, extending half the length of frontal depression. Malar sulcus: with depressions. Shape of frontal depression: ovoid. L: W of frontal depression: 45.8: 32.4. Width of frontal depression: subequal to IOS. Sculpture of frontal depression: transversely carinate, area between carinae smooth; in ventral 2/3 polygonal cells present on either side of transverse carinae towards orbits. Submedian carina of frontal depression: restricted to dorsal 3/5. AOD in dorsal view: 5.3× OOL. Sculpture of frons sans frontal depression: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. Sculpture of vertex: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. Hyperoccipital carina: present, protruding anteriorly between posterior ocelli. Sculpture of gena: polygonal cells without rugose sculpture.

Mesosoma. L: W of mesoscutum: 33.3: 62.2. Sculpture of mesoscutum: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. L: W of mesoscutellum: 23.3: 45.5. Sculpture of mesoscutellum: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, densely setose laterad. Posterior mesoscutellar sulcus: concealed beneath setae. Sculpture of metascutellum: anteriorly foveate, posteriorly bidentate. Posterior margin of metascutellum: bidentate. Sculpture of metanotal trough: foveate. Lateral propodeal area: laterally wide and narrowing centrad. Sculpture of lateral propodeal area: with depressions. Posterior propodeal projection: short and pointing laterad. Pronotal cervical sulcus: with depressions. Sculpture of lateral pronotal area: dorsally rugose, followed by an oblique carina, remainder smooth with transverse carinae; ventrally rugose. Prespecular sulcus: transversely foveate. Sculpture of speculum: transversely carinate interspersed with foveae. Femoral depression: with irregular cells. Episternal sulcus: foveate. Postacetabular sulcus: indicated as a furrow. Mesepimeral sulcus: foveate. Sculpture of posterior mesepimeral area: narrow and smooth. Mesopleural carina: indicated ventrally. Mesopleural pit: present. Metapleural sulcus: with depressions. Sculpture of dorsal metapleural area: foveate with dense setae. Sculpture of ventral metapleural area: foveate with dense setae. Paracoxal sulcus: with depressions. L: W of fore wing: 149: 61.0. Ratio of length of m: st: pm: 6.7: 13.3: 10.0. Shape of submarginalis: straight, distant from anterior margin of wing with a slight dip before reaching marginalis.

Metasoma. L: W of metasoma: 73.8: 63.8, 1.2 × as long as wide. Anterior margin of T1: weakly concave. Basal foveae on T1: present. Sculpture of T1: longitudinally costate, space between costae with rugose sculpture. Sculpture of T2: longitudinally costate; space between costae with irregular depressions; posteromedially smooth; basal foveae absent. Length of T2: 6.3× length of T3. Sculpture of T3–T4: anteriorly foveate, posteriorly smooth. Setation of metasoma: densely setose laterally and sparsely setose posteriorly.

Male. Similar to female. Length of A1–A 12 in ratio of 45.5: 6.3: 13.6: 20.0: 20.0: 18.1: 16.3: 16.3: 16.3: 14.5: 15.4: 20.9, respectively.

Diagnosis

Hadronotus wintes is similar to H. altmannae sp. n. The distinguishing characters are given above under the latter species.

Remarks

This species is reported for the first time from India.
