Material examined

Holotype, female ( ICAR / NBAIR /P4974), INDIA: Karnataka, Shivamogga, UAHS, Naville, 13.973° N, 75.578°E, ca 610 m, YPT, in potato ( Solanum tuberosum : Solanaceae ) field, 8 January 2017. Paratype: one male ( ICAR / NBAIR /P4975), Karnataka, Shivamogga, UAHS, Naville, 13.973°N, 75.578°E, ca 610 m, YPT, in paddy ( Oryza sativa : Poaceae ) field, 9 January 2017.

Etymology

The Sanskrit epithet ‘randhra’ means depressions, referring to the depressions present on the metasoma. The name is treated as an adjective.

Diagnosis

Hadronotus randhra sp. n. is similar to H. hrdyae sp. n. but differs from it in having a short central keel on frons which extends 1/4 length of frontal depression, and with stigmalis straight on fore wing, whereas in H. hrdyae sp. n. central keel on frons is elongate extending 4/5 length of frontal depression, and fore wing with an incurved stigmalis.
