Types. Holotype male from Brazil, state of São Paulo, Miracatu, Fazenda Itereí (24°03’S; 47°13’W), 20– 26.IX.2001, Equipe Biota col., deposited in MCN 48936. Paratype female, same data as the holotype, deposited in MCN 49310. Paratype male and female, same data as the holotype, deposited in MCN 49311.

Etymology. The specific name is a patronymic in honor to the Brazilian arachnologist Maria Aparecida de Leão Marques, nicknamed “Cida”.

Diagnosis. The male of Dipoena cidae new species resembles that of D. atlantica Chickering, 1943 (see Levi, 1963: 163, fig. 154), but differs in having the median apophysis longer ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), sperm duct in the tegulum with sinuous loop shorter, conductor developed and embolus hooked ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ). The female of Dipoena cidae is close to D. pusilla (Keyserling, 1886) (see Levi, 1963: 165, figs. 161, 122) by much darker and by anterior lip above the opening of the epigynum is shorter ( Figs. 4, 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ); differs from it in the smaller first spermathecae and more distant from each other ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ).

Description. Male (Holotype, MCN 48936): Total length 1.42. Carapace length 0.69, width 0.56. Clypeus height 0.35. Sternum length 0.31, width 0.33. Abdomen length 0.69, width 0.84, height 0.73. Leg formula I/II/IV/ III; segment length (I/II/III/IV): femora 0.54/0.48/0.37/0.46; patellae + tibiae 0.50/0.44/0.33/0.46; metatarsi + tarsi 0.50/0.44/0.42/0.42; total 1.54/1.36/1.12/1.34. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.10, ALE 0.04, PME 0.05 and PLE 0.04; AME–AME 0.03, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.04, PME–PLE 0.08. Eyes ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ) with dark borders. Clypeus black. Carapace high ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), with grooves ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), dark brown. Chelicerae, endites and labium yellow. Sternum brown, covered with dark brown dots. Legs yellow, venter covered with dark brown dots. Abdomen subcircular ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ), dark olive-green, densely covered with setae; venter olive-green. Spinnerets yellow. Palp with articles yellow, except tibia and cymbium dark brown.

Female (Paratype, MCN 49310): Total length 1.47. Carapace length 0.67, width 0.58. Clypeus height 0.12. Sternum length 0.35, width 0.37. Abdomen length 0.92, width 0.96, height 0.86. Leg formula IV/I/II/III; segment length (I/II/III/IV): femora 0.58/0.52/0.42/0.56; patellae + tibiae 0.46/0.48/0.42/0.54; metatarsi + tarsi 0.52/0.52/ 0.50/0.54; total 1.56/1.52/1.64/1.64. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.12, ALE 0.07, PME 0.06 and PLE 0.07; AME–AME 0.02, AME–ALE 0.02, PME–PME 0.04, PME–PLE 0.06. Eyes margined with black. Carapace brown, covered with median and lateral dark brown dots, longer than wide, setae present at ocular area. Chelicerae,
