Male description. Body color brown ( Figs 4, 5 View FIGURES 2–17 ). Antennal segments I–II dark brown, III pale on basal two thirds and brown on apical third, IV brown with base pale, V brown with extreme base pale, VI–VIII brown; inner simple sense cone on antennal segment IV reaching base of segment V ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 34–51 ). Postocular setae pair II about as long as antennal segment II ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 52–64 ). Pronotum with transverse lines of sculpture; posteroangular setae length about one third of pronotal width ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 52–64 ); mesonotum with weak lines of sculpture anteriorly and transverse lines of sculpture posteriorly. Fore wing brown with paler areas sub-basally, sub-medially and sub-apically, setae not longer than fore wing width ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2–17 ). Femora and tibiae light brown medially with apex and base yellow; tarsi yellow. Abdominal sternites III–VIII with transverse and laterally curved pore plates on abdominal ( Fig. 111 View FIGURES 107–120 ).

Measurements (male in microns): Body length 990. Head, length 90; width 118. Head setae length, ocellar III 25; postocular II 37. Pronotum, length 87; width 150; Posteroangular setae length I 60; II 50. Fore wing length 660. Antennal segments I–VIII length 12, 25, 67, 37, 40, 27, 15, 27.

Comments. The male of B. williamsi is here recorded for the first time, and has the pore plates on sternites III–VII wider than those of male B. musae . The species has previously been recorded from Guyana and Trinidad on grass, and the following specimens were collected by the authors in Brazil. Female is similar, but larger and without pore plates on sternites.

NEW RECORD. Brazil. Acre: Rio Branco , 5 females, 1 male on grasses, 27.vii.2019; Mato Grosso: Cuiabá, 1 female on dead leaves of unidentified Arecaceae , 11.iii.2016 (E.F.B. Lima) ( CHNUFPI) .
