Record associated with mangroves: Among epiphytal algae from red mangrove Rhizophora mangle roots, Caribbean Sea: Netherland Antilles, Curaçao, Niewport and also from Bahamas, near Lee Stocking Island, Norman's Pond Cay – Pešić et al. (2008)

Remarks: Cook (1958) described this species from Bimini, Bahamas.

Distribution: Caribbean Sea.
