Mericarps were 1.9–4.2 × 1.4–2.1 mm and brown, mericarp surface smooth and reticulate in G. collinum , G. pratense , G. sylvaticum ; while surface was smooth and verrucate in G. columbinum , G. rotundifolium , with long non-glandular and shorter glandular hairs with relatively dense distribution on the surface. The species of this section have bristles at the base of the mericarp as diagnostic features of the section.
