PARATYPES: USNM 253195 About USNM , two 3.2–3.5 mm, four ovigerous 3.2–4.4 mm, three, four juveniles, sta K-AL-124, same data as holotype ; USNM 253196 About USNM , two

4.0 mm, one ovigerous (damaged), three juveniles, sta K-AL-53, coral rubble on fore-reef slope, Picard Island, Aldabra, 21 m, 15 April 1983.

Other material. USNM 253197 About USNM , three, six ovigerous, seven, six juveniles, 11 stations oV Picard Island , Aldabra, 2–25 m. ZMUC, one, sta CRU-1982, Phuket Island , Thailand, 5 December 1995 .

Diagnosis. Rostrum wider than long, anterior margin straight. Lateral margin of pleotelson with single tooth. Eyes reniform. Red-brown pigmentation in anterior band on cephalon between eyes and on pereonites 2 and 4; scattered patches on pereonites 1, 3, 4–7; pleotelson with patchy pigment denser in anterior region. Pereopod 1 in male, carpus with broad rounded setose posterodista l lobe not reaching midlength of posterior margin of propodus; expanded propodus with convex anterior margin densely setose, palm with three low teeth, strong articulated posterodistal seta; dactylus just reaching beyond propodal posterodistal seta. Operculum of female pentagonal, about 1.3 times longer than wide.

Etymology. The speci c name derives from the type locality, Aldabra Atoll.
