Biology. Fazia macquarti has been associated with the tree species L. apiculata , M. ovata var. ovata and T. stipularis ( Smith-Ramírez et al., 2005) . Previously, Porter (1921) mentioned that professor Stuardo collected this species in A. chilensis . He also mentioned that professor Espinosa gave him a specimen collected in a flower called “Tupa”. This flower fly species has also been observed visiting flower of Baccharis sp. (Daniel Mora, CSP record); B. rapa (Fernanda Gatalina, CSP record); M. domestica (Vanessa Durán & Rodrigo Barahona-Segovia, CSP record); T. officinale (Christian Correa, CSP record);
