World distribution. Chile.

Chilean distribution. From Valparaíso to Los Lagos region ( Fig. 79 View FIGURE 79 ).

Altitudinal range. From coastal to precordillera ecosystems (10– 1,000 m.a.s.l.).

Biology and notes. Philippimyia cyanocephalus   is a species associated with native forests. The first live record was observed recently in the exotic shrub R. ulmifolius   (Ricardo Varela, CSP record, Fig. 73 View FIGURES 71–73 ). Other biological and ecological aspects of this species are unknown.

Conservation status. LC; EOO = 128,991 km 2; AOO = 88 km 2 and 20 localities (or subpopulations).
