Chilean distribution. From Maule to Aysén region ( Fig. 28 View FIGURE 28 ).
Altitudinal range. From coastal to highland ecosystems (5– 2,240 m.a.s.l.).
Biology and notes. Chamaesphegina argentifascies is associated with Laurelia sempervirens (Ruiz & Pav.) Tul in the Reserva Nacional Los Queules (Rodrigo Barahona-Segovia pers. obs.) and E. cordifolia trees in Chiloé Island (Rodrigo Barahona-Segovia and C. Smith-Ramírez, pers. obs.). The locality Ensenada in the type locality, belongs to the Puerto Varas municipality in Chilean territory and therefore, we considered this as an error in the geographic assignation of the type locality. This species, especially in central Chile and Valdivian forest has lost the larger extensions of native habitat by human being activities ( Miranda et al., 2017).
Conservation status. VU under B2ab (iii) using AOO = 40 km 2 and ten localities (or subpopulations); EOO = 99,655 km 2.
