Macrolycus dotatus Kleine, 1925

Macrolycus dotatus Kleine, 1925: 328 .

Material examined. Laos, 4 males, NE Laos, Phou Pan Mt. 1300–1900 m, 1.–15. v. 2010, C. Holzschuh ( LMBC, SYSM) (New record from Laos).

Distribution. Vietnam, Laos.

Macrolycus extrusus sp. nov. ( Figs 25 View FIGURES 23 – 30 , 31, 32, 47 View FIGURES 31 – 54 )

Type material. Holotype, male, NE Laos, Phou Pan Mt. 1300–1900 m, 1.–15. v. 2010, C. Holzschuh ( LMBC).

Diagnosis. This species is similar to M. praecellens , but can be distinguished by the presence of the short lamella on the antennomere 3 and the less expanded apex of the aedeagus ( Figs 31, 47 View FIGURES 31 – 54 ). The apical part of aedeagus is wider than that of M. praecellens in ventral view ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 31 – 54 ).

Description (holotype). Body medium-sized, dark brown, pronotum and elytra uniformly orange ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23 – 30 ). Head small, antennal tubercles inconspicuous. Antennae overlapping two thirds of elytra, antennomere 3 with short lamella ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 31 – 54 ). Antennomeres 4–11 lamellate. Pronotum transverse, anterior margin protruding anteriorly, lateral and posterior margins sinuate. Anterior angles of pronotum inconspicuous, obtuse, posterior angles acute ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23 – 30 ). Scutellum orange brown, slightly emarginate at apex. Elytra subparallel. Elytral costa 2 much stouter than costae 1 and 3–4. Costal interstices irregularly punctured, covered with dense orange pubescence. Aedeagus without paramerae, median lobe slender, sinuate; apex of median lobe strongly expanded ventrally, with narrow decumbent lamella ( Figs 31, 32 View FIGURES 31 – 54 ).

Measurements. Length 11.20 mm, width at humeri 2.80 mm, pronotum length/width 1.90/2.30 mm.

Distribution. Laos, known only from the type locality.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the expanded apex of the phallus.
