Lectotype (designated by Raven 1962a):— INDIA. Assam: Khasi Hills, below Pomrang , 1500 m, 10 September 1850, Hooker & Thomson 2322 ( K000979310 !) .
Distribution: —N Hengduan, S Hengduan, U Irrawaddy
Note: —This species is distributed in low or middle elevations ( Chen et al. 1992), and remarkably distinct by its tomentose stem.
