Type:— In moist sandy ground, island on the lower Amur, near the mouth of the Ussuri, at Chads Mare , 1855, Maximowicz s.n. ( LE) ( Raven 1963) .
Distribution: —E Nepal, S Hengduan.
Note: —This species has long been misidentified as Ludwigia prostrata Roxburgh (1832: 420) ( Chen et al. 2007). However, the seeds of this species are enclosed in a column of spongy, and easily to be distinguished with L. prostrata .
