Distribution. This is a widespread species in tropical Africa and Asia.

Habitat. Associated with grass and herb vegetations on moist soils at lower elevations ( Figure 2 d, 4a).

Remarks. We collected two brachypterous specimens ( Figure 32) at Shorori wetland ( Figure 4 a). The existence of brachypterous forms in Ethiopia was already mentioned by Jago (1977).
