Remarks: This species was synonymised with Ph. ploiaria ( Westwood, 1859) in error by Shelford (1909: 263) and is here re-established (stat. rev.). It is a separate species, ♂♂ (the only sex known) differing from Ph. ploiaria by the shorter alae and very different shape of the anal segment. A description of the previously unknown ♀ and re-description of the ♂ are presented below.
