13. Lanceobostra similis ( Redtenbacher, 1908: 412) [ Bostra ]. HT, ♀: Holotype; Jalisco, Mex., Juli, Schumann; 23; Godman-Salvin Coll. 1908.–168.; B.C.A. Orth. II Bostra similis Redt. ; BMNH(E) #844529 [NHMUK]. comb. n. ( Figs. 37F View FIGURE 37 , 85J View FIGURE 85 , 40N–P View FIGURE 40 )
Remarks: Unfortunately the apex of the abdomen and subgenital plate of the unique holotype have subsequent to its description in 1908 been destroyed by parasites. Redtenbacher (1908: 412) stated it to be roughly twice the length of abdominal terga VIII–X combined, hence fairly typical for Lanceobostra gen. n. The elongate (but unarmed) head, denticulate mesopleurae and longitudinal keel of the mesosternum place similis in this new genus. The previously unknown ♂ is described from a specimen in the collection on ANSP below.
Distribution: W-Mexico, Jalisco [NHMUK]; W-Mexico, Michoacan, 5–10 miles S of Uruapan 5000 ft. [ANSP].
