Holotype. m, Taiwan: Chaofeng , Hualien, 13.XII.1993, leg. Y.B. Fan; slideNo. 155TFRI (coll. TFRI) .

Taxonomy. Thesize, thedarkgroundcolour, thestrongpostmedialline andthestructureofthemalegenitaliaimplycloserelationshipwith N. atrata and N. furcatella .

Description. Wingspan 13 mm, lengthofforewing 6.5 mm. Antennaefiliform, ciliate withsetae. Twosetaeoneachsegment; longestonestwicelongerthediameterofflagellum. Ciliationdense; ciliaaslongasthediameterofflagellum. Labialpalpslong, fivetimes longerthediameterofeye; 3rdsegmentrelativelylong, itstiplight; dorsalscalesof 2nd segmentrelativelyshort, dorsaledgeconvex. Scale-hoodofvertexbroad-based, medium long, rounded. Characteristicwingpatternfeatures: costaofforewingnotconcave; shape offorewingunusuallybroad; groundcolourdarkgreywithslightbrownishshade (the specimenisworn); terminallineverystrong, blackish; transverselineshardlyvisibleexceptforthebroad, blackishpostmediallinebeingslightlysinuousandbentinwardsbelowcell; reniformstigmalightyellow, narrow, angular, withnarrowdarkedgeandsome blackishscalesatbottomsection; orbicularstigmatiny, hardlyvisible, composedbyonlya fewlightyellowscales. Colourationandpatternofhindwingsimilartothoseofforewing.

Malegenitalia ( Fig. 8 View Figs 7–12 ). Uncusrelativelylong, straight, withconvexdorsaledgeand hookedtip. Tegumenaslongasvinculum. Saccusbroad-based, long, graduallytapering, itstiprounded. Juxtalarge, rhomboidal, broaderthanlong. Valvalong, mediumwide, slightlytapering; asmallcostallobepresentintheapicalquarterofvalva. Sacculusnarrow, elongate, halfaslongasvalva. Aedeaguselongate, evenlywide, slightlycurved; vesica (uneverted) withlarge, straightcornutus.

Diagnosis. Theunusuallybroadforewingofthisnewspeciesisshared by N. blepharota ( Strand, 1920) . Naardasecreta isslightlysmallerinsizethan N. blepharota , thegroundcolourisdarker, thereniformstigmaislighterand smaller, andthestreaksoftheterminallinearemuchmoreelongate. Themale genitaliashowmoreconspicuousdifferencesbetweenthesetwospecies: the ventraledgeofuncusin N. secreta isstraight, whilethatof N. blepharota ( Fig. 7 View Figs 7–12 ) has an emergence, the juxta is broader, the valva has no harpe, but the costa hassmalllobe, whichisabsentin N. blepharota .

Themalegenitaliaofthisnewspeciesaresimilartothoseof N. atrata . However, thecostallobeofthevalvaof N. secreta isabsentfrom N. atrata , moreover, thevalvaislesstapering, itstiproundedinsteadofbeingpointedas in N. atrata , thesaccusisbroaderandthecornutusinthevesicaisalsobroader.
