Re-description. Head ( Figs 4, 6 View FIGURES 1–6 ) greyish black, frons dark grey, labial palpus strongly recurved, long, extended far over head, covered with grey, black-tipped scales, apex of both palpomeres white, palpomere 2 smooth-scaled, 1.5–2 times as broad and only slightly longer than palpomere 3, scape blackish brown, flagellomeres with alternated black and dark brown rings.
Thorax and tegulae black mixed with brown; wingspan 17.5–19.8 mm, forewing ( Figs 1, 3, 5 View FIGURES 1–6 ) blackish brown, costal margin grey from base to ½, with diffuse white rounded pattern at middle, white tornal and costal spot at ¾, white spots along apex, indistinct black spot at middle of cell, cilia yellowish white, grey-tipped; hindwing and cilia grey.
Abdomen. Male. Tergum VIII tongue-shaped, longer than wide, sternum VIII twice as wide as long, unmodified ( Figs 7, 8 View FIGURES 7–11 ). Coremata as paired tuft of long hair-like scales. In male genitalia ( Figs 12, 13 View FIGURES 12, 13 ) uncus trapezoid, posterior margin ½ length of anterior margin, twice as long as broad at base, weakly sclerotized; gnathos absent; tegumen at base broader than long, as long as uncus, anteromedial emargination deep, rounded; valva gently bent, of even width, densely covered with long setae in distal ¼, apex pointed, far extending beyond posterior margin of uncus; sacculus 1/6–1/5 length of valva, digitate, covered with setae; juxta lobes as long and 1/3–2/3 as broad as valva, apex weakly inflated, covered with setae, top pointed; saccus tapered, far extending beyond top of pedunculus; phallic tube about as long as valva, straight in distal portion with ring-shaped apical sclerite, caecum rounded, distinctly inflated, bulbus ejaculatorius very long, anterior part of ductus ejaculatorius with long, coiled, ribbon-shaped sclerotisation. Female. Tergum and sternum VIII unmodified, 1.5–2 times as broad as long ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 7–11 ). In female genitalia ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 7–11 ) papillae anales elongate, subovate, covered with short setae; apophyses posteriores straight, twice as long as papillae anales; tergum VIII evenly sclerotized, anterior margin broadly emarginated, sternum VIII trapezoid, anterior margin straight, posterior margin weakly emarginated with slender medial incision to almost posterior margin, unmodified except medial zone of microtrichia and paired drop-shaped sclerites on both sides slightly above antrum; apophyses anteriores about 2/3 length of segment VIII; ductus bursae slender in posterior portion, gradually broadened anteriorly, antrum distinct, cup-shaped; corpus bursae egg-shaped, 2/3 length of ductus bursae, signum plate elongate with strongly sclerotized and toothed anterior and posterior margins, and weakly toothed medial zone.
Biology. Host plant and immature stages unknown. Adults have been collected from late May to mid August at altitudes between 3200 and 4000 m.
Distribution. China: Yunnan Province.
Remarks. Gelechia delodectis was described from a male and a female collected in Likiang, Yunnan Province of China: “Yül., 3200–4000 m., V, VI, 2 ex”. The female adult and slide of the genitalia from Meyrick collection of NHMUK were illustrated as “type” by Clarke (1969: 111, pl. 55, figs 1-1c). This female was selected as lectotype by K. Sattler (manuscript designation). Here I formally designate this specimen ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–6 ) as lectotype in order to stabilise the nomenclature. The male from the Caradja collection of NHMB has been designated as paralectotype by Popescu-Gorj (1992) and its genitalia have been illustrated by Park (1998: 303, figs 11-11b).
