CURTONOTUM: Macquart 1844: 350 (193). Type-species: Musca gibba Fabricius, 1805 [preoccupied], by original designation. [The name of the type­species is a junior primary homonym preoccupied by Musca gibba Müller, 1776: 175 and M. gibba Rossi, 1794: 73. Curtonotum taeniatum Hendel, 1913: 629 was accepted as the replacement name by Thompson and Pont (1993)].
