Colletes fulvicornis Noskiewicz, 1936 View in CoL
Colletes fulvicornis View in CoL is a relatively uncommon species of the C. clypearis View in CoL group in China, the distribution center of which lies on south-central Mongolia, although the species has also been found in southern Russia (Gorno-Altay, Tuva and Zabaykal’ye) and western China (Xinjiang) ( Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin 2011, 2013b; Proshchalykin & Kuhlmann 2015b, 2015c; Ascher & Pickering 2021). More recently, Niu et al. (2013b) extended the range of C. fulvicornis View in CoL to southwestern Xizang (Markam Xian) based on a single male colleted by YH Han in 1976. However, careful re-examination of this specimen (especially its gonostylus and S7) revealed that it actually belongs to C. hedini View in CoL , the most common Colletes species found in and around Markam Xian according to the material studied by us. Based on this finding, we argue that the presence of C. fulvicornis View in CoL in Xizang can no longer be sustained and thus it is herein removed from the list of the Tibetan Colletes View in CoL .
