Diagnosis. The combination of malar area 0.75× as long as basal width of mandible, paraocular area with paleyellow and black hairs intermixed and mesoscutal black hairs absent may be used to differentiate females of C. pseudolaevigena from those of the other Tibetan Colletes , except C. sichuanensis . However, their females can without, black hairs (in the males of all other species, black hairs are either present or absent in both paraocular area and mesoscutum). Colletes pseudolaevigena is most similar to C. laevigena , but the females of the former are distinct in having the clypeus with a longitudinal groove (clypeus without groove in females of C. laevigena ) and the hind basitarsus with pale setae (hind basitarsus with dark setae in females of C. laevigena ). Males of the two species can be differentiated by the hind basitarsus 4.0× as long as broad in C. pseudolaevigena (hind basitarsus 5.0× as long as broad in C. laevigena ) and the gonostylus as long as its basal width in C. pseudolaevigena (gonostylus 2.0× as long as its basal width in C. laevigena ).
