Colletes harrerioides Niu, Zhu & Kuhlmann, 2013: 110 View Cited Treatment (holotype ♂: China, Sichuan, Nanping, Jiuzhaigou [IZCAS]). Colletes harrerioides ; Ascher & Pickering 2021.
Diagnosis. The set of the following features may be used to tell females of C. harrerioides apart from those of the other Tibetan Colletes : bees relatively large (HW 3.4–3.6 mm), paraocular area with pale-yellow and black hairs intermixed and T2–T3 apical bands 1.5× MOD in lateral view. Males can be recognized by the combination of paraocular area with a distinct longitudinal band of black hairs, anterolateral angle of pronotum obtuse angled and gonostylus shorter than its basal width. Colletes harrerioides is remarkably similar to C. harreri , however, their females can be differentiated by the malar area only 0.75× as long as basal width of mandible in the former (malar area 1.25× as long as basal width of mandible in the latter) and the hind basitarsus with dark setae in the former (hind basitarsus with pale setae in the latter). Males of C. harrerioides are distinct in having the hind basitarsus 4.25× as long as broad (hind basitarsus 4.75× as long as broad in males of C. harreri ) and the S7 with lateral margins diverging anteriorly and converging posteriorly (S7 with subparallel lateral margins in males of C. harreri ).
